I think by now we can all agree that I am a big fan of decorating my home, and figuring out a way to do it as low cost as possible. A lot of times that means DIYing it. I figured out how to Improve a small kitchen with small updates and DIY ideas and am sharing […]
I can only bring so much inspiration, I am one person, with one home. But I am also just a girl… standing in front of a home… asking to decorate it! I love decorating my home, I also love this blog. Which is why sharing ideas of other talented bloggers is such a happy place for me to be. I get more ideas and inspiration, you get all the decorating eye candy, and I support my fellow blogging ladies!
When I first started decorating my home the doors in the home were overlooked, I did not ignore them, they were simple just there. Once I fell hard for home decor I did a few things to change up my home and the doors were a part of that. I changed the hardware, painted them and even built a barn door which you can see above. I will be sharing the tutorial of that later this week! It has been in my home for a while and made a few appearances in pictures, but I have never shared the full tutorial here. Doors are one of those smaller parts of a home that make the bigger picture that much better. A door will not make or break a space, but it certainly adds to the overall look, it is the icing on the cake. A cake is still good without icing, but not as pretty or as yummy. In fact if you are like one of my kids, the icing is the best part. I love the details in a home, the wood work, lighting, trim or other small details. They are what makes a home feel 100% decorated and thought out. I put a lot of effort into my home, and enjoy every moment of it. These 20 stunning door makeover and DIY ideas show just what some paint, wood or an idea can do to help transform a space!
Let’s get to some DIYing! Or in this case a mini DIY project, this is the Easiest DIY picture frame – Simple steps to display art! I have made a few frames for wall art in the past, but these I am sharing turned out so good! My fireplace is going through a bit of a transformation, […]

Let me tell you, each of these homes rooms are stunning! I shared my newly made over fireplace shiplap wall, with a coastal edge to it; yesterday on the blog. Still makes my heart go pitter patter in the best way looking at the dark navy blue color! Anyways, I had a few emails from people asking if certain wood types would work for this project, and a few other questions. Most of which I could have explained, but I felt it was best to simply show you all some different options for a wood feature wall.
Shiplap, wood planks, wainscoting, board & batten…. call it what you want, these 30 gorgeous rooms with wood feature walls make your heart go pitter patter… probably sending you to the nearest hardware store or salvage yard to shiplap it up! Depending on your home style, preferred colors, levels of rustic-ness all determine what kind of wall will work in your home. Some of the rooms featured did a complete room in wood, while others added it to a portion of the room. All of them put their own twist on this classic idea. The best part is they are all done DIY style! So many of them have extensive tutorials explaining how they made their specific wood feature. Pretty much this is a giant DIY and home decorators dream list! Add that little touch of wood to your home, taking the standard into custom home territory in just one project!
