I haven’t always paid attention to food labels, but after I started reading them I couldn’t believe the stuff that was in the “food” I was eating. One product that needed to change was my coffee creamer, which I LOVE, so I decided to try making it myself. Homemade Coffee Creamer with vanilla and cinnamon! It’s so good! The best part is you don’t need to sacrifice flavor and convenience to make this on your own and the flavor options are endless.
Have you ever looked at what’s in your coffee cream? I can’t even pronounce some of this. Of course real cream isn’t actually used in the typical creamers and that’s because when they first marketed the product, in the 1960s, it was meant to be dairy free. So now the majority of coffee creamers really are dairy free. Here is an interesting look at the ingredients listed on a brand’s Cinnamon Vanilla coffee cream. Can you find it? The word for cinnamon or vanilla anywhere on this list?
Water, Sugar, Vegetable Oil (High Oleic Soybean and/or Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed), Sodium Caseinate (a Milk Derivative), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Mono- and Diglycerides, Dipotassium Phosphate, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Carrageenan.
Make your own coffee creamer
Try using some of these basic ingredients that are “real food” instead of chemicals and additives. I really like the cinnamon and vanilla together. I enjoy a strong brew but I also enjoy the sweet flavor of this coffee creamer. Every time you add this cream to your coffee, it gives you a fabulous froth on the top. Yum!
I love this recipe because it is so fresh and tastes amazing in my coffee. It reminds me of the cafes that I visited in a long-ago trip to Europe. So yummy. Give this recipe a try. I think you’ll like it too. As with anything else, you can play with it a little bit until you get your desired sweetness.
Take a look at just how easy this is to do yourself.
So fast and simple.
With hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Perfect!
- 1 cup half and half
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1.5 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
-
Add half and half, heavy whipping cream, vanilla, maple syrup, cinnamon, and added sweetener if desired to a mixing bowl. Mix well for about a minute or until creamer starts to thicken slightly.
For a little extra sweetness you can add 1-2 Tbsp of sugar (to taste). If you are trying to limit your sugar content, try using 1/2 Tbsp. Stevia (or more to taste) instead.
I hope you enjoy this easy recipe for Homemade Coffee Creamer.

This sounds delicious! I love cinnamon and vanilla so this is a win win! It’s also shocking to me that the cinnamon and vanilla creamer in the store doesn’t contain either one! Yours is way better!
I tried this and yes, it tastes amazing in Coffee. Thanks for sharing it.
