My favorite project from last year- a Christmas hanging wreath

With this being the first week of November I thought it was fitting to share a Christmas project….! I know, a little confusing. I am sharing a project from last years Christmas. It seems people are Christmas crazy already and figured I needed to jump on that bandwagon.

I have always been one to try and hold off on the Christmas cheer until after Thanksgiving. I honestly do not see myself doing that this time. There is too much pretty, stunning and magical that happens with Christmas. I am one of those people this year eager for any and every holiday spirit. I have the Christmas music playing, and have zero shame in my Christmas game. I found myself being nostalgic over my Christmas decor from last year.
This Christmas hanging wreath I made last year is my absolute favorite holiday project I have ever made. It is perfectly sized for my living room, traditional in color but modern in the fact that it is hanging from the ceiling.
I made this with a old barrel ring. I had a wine barrel in the backyard that broke. I saved these rings from it with plans to use it in the future. Inspiration struck in the way of a hanging wreath. It was a really simple project and one I adore.
I am getting into the holiday spirit, working away on some fun Holiday decorations, collaborations with other bloggers. I am not ready to share it all yet, I do not have it together that well. I have ideas, a few things cut and organized, a few things painted. But nothing done and ready to be shared.
Last years Christmas decor was magical, fun, whimsical and everything I was moving towards in my general home decor. This is a great reflection of that. I am daydreaming in woodland creatures, reds, greens, and many natural elements. Time to get my crafting on… “its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!”
When do you break out the Christmas decorations? Have I lost you all, you little Grinch’s who are not ready for Christmas? I have drawn the line, bring it on! 🙂
